The simple answer is no. There are ways to do it, but it's a little complicated. I also don't see why you;d WANT to use Itunes if you didn;t need to. It's a pain in the butt and it's a major resource hog. Most players have their own synch system. A lot of them (like creative, Iriver, and sandisk) use windows plays for sure. This means they synch right through your windows media player. Zune has its own synch software. I;d use the synch software designed to be used with your MP3 player.

iTunes is really only intended to be used to put songs downloaded from the iTunes store, or ripped into iTunes from your own personal CD collection, into your iPod. I don't know of any iPod-clones that work with the actual iTunes interface, but iTunes does allow for compatible songs from other sources (like MP3's that were downloaded from other online stores) to be added to your library, or for you to convert your iTunes song downloads into the nearly-universal MP3 format that you can then put on other players, either by using their associated software, or by just using the copy/paste function for real low-tech players. So, Apple doesn't make it anywhere near as effortless as it is to sync an iPod to iTunes, but they do make it possible to use 3rd Party downloads or music players.

However, if you are using an iPod-clone, you're probably better off not using iTunes except as a way to pull in legal downloads that you can't find anywhere else, since Windows Media Player is often a required program for off-brand players.
