I'm in 7th grade and haven't been playing bball very long and was wondering. If someone is getting ready to shoot the ball and I grab it from them is that illegal?? Because I've had it done to me before. I've thought about doing it in games but I don't wanna get fouled.

You can take the ball away from the person who is hooting as long as you do not hit or touch any part of there body and no it is not illegal, i do when i play basketball all the time that how we most get the ball when my team gets it taken away by the other team we do it all the time but do not do it during foul shoots that is illegal that what they teach us to do on our varsity team im the captain good luck

The only time it is illegal is if someone is shooting a foul shot. Be sure you get all ball, if you touch any part of the opposing players hand or arm you'll get whistled at your level.
