My doxie knows: treat, dinner, hungry, walkie, do "wee-ies", stay, sit, home, wait and "kissies." I'm amazed at how she'll also sit in front of me and makes conversation-like noises when she wants or needs a walk, or her water dish is empty, the biscuit container lid is off, and when she wants to play. I think dogs have more cognitive reasoning than we give them credit for.

My dog does the same thing with the ears perked and the tipping of the head. There's lots of words he recognizes and reacts to. I can't count them all. He knows the usual: go bye-bye (one of his favorites), go potty, toy, treat, and kisses for example. He's a big dog so he knows what it means when I say "excuse me" and he'll move out of the way. Also there's a couple of foods that are his favs and you don't mention them unless you mean it. Those are "ice cream" and "tomatoes".

At least 6 that I can think of. She's a Boxer. She does that head tip thing too. The other dog, a beagle/cocker mix (?) knows about 4.

I have no dog because I live in an apartment.
But I have 2 cats. They know the word 'treats', and go to their stations. Also they know 'scratcheth not my furniture', and stop. They know their names too: Phoebe and Daphne.
Animals are far smarter than most humans give them credit for.

I can't even list them all! With 3 dogs, it's hard to keep track. But one of them knows sentences, like "go to the back porch", and if I say "I'll see ya in the morning" he goes to his house and knows i'm going to bed.
It is cute, and somewhat amazing at times.

I'd say about 20 words:
* GOOD GIRL/DOGGIE
* wanna' go OUTSIDE ?
* COME
* GET BACK
* STAY
* SIT
* want a COOKIE?
* DADDY's home
* on the COUCH
* go to SLEEP
* NO BARKING (word NO by itself also)
* give MOMMY a KISS
* wanna eat DINNER?
* BAD doggie
... and probably a few more that I'm forgetting!

It seems like he knows everything I'm saying. I'm not too fond of him right now and he knows it because I've been giving him the "don't even try to come around me" look so he just cowers and goes into his room.

She knows a lot of words. She is smart. I can name one of her "dollies" and she knows which one it is.
