An entrepreneur is someone who goes into business for him/herself.
Salary ranges from nothing to billions. That's the point - you try to start a business and earn a living and hopefully succeed in building a business that gives you more money than you need. On the downside, you may lose money and not get anywhere. That's the chance you take as an entrepreneur.

I am not sure of the average salary. I am sure there is a wide range though.
