It seems the fertilzer people are doing a lot of specific kinds, like for palms, bulbs, maples, acid loving plants roses and flowers, vegetables, and just good old 5-5-5, an all around fertilizer.Organic fertilizers have lower numbers, but the nuttrition is more available to the plants. Look in the garden center of one of the big stores, or go to a local nursery.

Anything that grows like an onion is a bulb food as you call it (Shallots, Leeks and Garlic), other root vegetables donot come into this category..they are tubers like potatoes which are basically storage for the plant itself.

Do you mean like bulb vegetables like onions, scallions, garlic, and fennel? Or do you mean food for bulbs such as daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths to make them grow?

DO NOT eat any flower bulbs, such as daffodil, tulip of hyacinth, the later is deadly when eaten.
But onions, garlic and shallots yummy

SWEET POTATOES, ONIONS CARROTS IRISH POTATOES. BEETS, PEANUTS ANY THING THAT GROWS UNDERNEATH THE GROUND AND CAN BE EATEN.
