Well, first of all I have to like it: I work there at the public library in my city. Other than that, the library is a great resource with lots of books and access to the internet. I like that my library has interlibrary loan because I don't have to rely soley upon what my library carries and can request it from others. The library offers great ways to gather information and I think that they are wonderful. Especially when you're low on money, you can take books out if you can't afford to buy them :o) I love the library.

Why do I like the Library? I like it because its a whole building full of books!!!!!!!!!!!!! its so quiet and peaceful, its a place to go and think. I love the big chairs at the library, you find a book and you just read!!! Its so fun, i dont do that much cause my parents dont have time. another thing is its a place to get books and it dosent charge money, seriously if there werent libraries, i would make my parents broke!

Its a great place to concentrate, also I can find a desk with a large, clear area where I can spread papers out and go through them, without distractions. My own desk is cluttered, and the phone rings, people knock on the door, the TV, the stereo and computer compete for my attention.
I also like books. And I find the hushed atmosphere of a library very soothing.

To be honest, I don't like the library. I love books and love to read, I can read a book over and over. When you check out a book at the library you have to give it back. I like to buy my books, that way any time I want to read it, its there.

To be surrounded by all that knowledge is one of, if not, the main attraction for me in any major library. To be able to smell, sense and read some of the knowledge accumulated is one of the most wonderous things in the world. To even see, all of those books and all of the masters of non-fiction and fiction together in one place is a major triumph and I hope that it never loses that standing in this era of modern technology.

My favorite reason to go to the library, is so I can go to the section on cat books and look at beautiful pictures and learn valuable info. I also like that I can get some books on tape there.

Air conditioning, knowledge, peaceful silence. Also, fictional books are an awesome escape from my sad reality. When I'm down, I just go to the library, surround myself with books, and read to my heart's content. It's a world where no one can judge me, no one can hurt me, and no one can expect anything from me...because it's a world where no one's really aware that I'm there.

It's mind candy! Whatever subject you can think of, whatever question you have, whatever you imagine to be, it is there. The heft of a two-inch-thick volume containing the complete works of Shakespeare is like holding the weight of his thoughts and imagination in your hands. Each individual bound strip along the shelf is a portal to somewhere else. Pull that strip of colored binding and you pull a lever that transports you to a place of your own choosing, a place you can immediately return from, and somehow be different, new, more.

Because it is there where I can get answers to any question I have from the books available to the public for free. And it's a peaceful and quiet place to get some rest.

I am a reading addict, and books are becoming increasingly expensive. The library allows me to indulge in books that I want to read, but don't necessarily want to add to my personal collection. It also lets me 'sample' works by authors that I haven't read before.
