I have a new laptop and am tired of using long phone wires and tying up the phone line to connect to the internet. If i buy a wireless internet card, do i have to pay monthly or is it just that one payment? Also, which card is the fastest and more affordable?

After you buy that wireless Internet card you are going to have to pay monthly for a high speed Internet connection which it is worth it. And if you have a wireless card you are going to need a wireless router to get that signal to your computer which is cool because you can use it anywhere in your house. Good luck

wireless internet card , are you talking about the ones provided by the cell phone companies? that's a monthly charge. so is connecting to a wireless home network set up with a broadband modem and wireless router, also is a monthly charge with the phone or cable company.

Yes, there is a monthly fee with the wireless internet cards. My business partner just bought one...and the fee for him through Sprint is $59.99 a month.

you dont pay for the wireless internet..

except buying the wireless router and the card..

all you pay for is the internet that is hooked up to your house..which you probably already pay for..

(like Cox High Speed Internet)

WELL IF YOU HAVE A WIRELESS CARD AND SOME ONE HAS WIRELESS ALSO LIVEING CLOSE TO YOU WITH THE SAME BAND YOU CAN GET WIRELESS FREE!

If you have a neighboor that has wireles unsecured network, you can hook up 4 free. Or else you Will need a contract from a dsl/cable provideer.
