wow, I don't know where some people on here get their answers.
No one cuts it. The cord snaps off when it is born and the cord (in a healthy birth) shrivels up. It may still be hanging 4-10 inches off the calf- you want a longer cord b/c there is less chance of infection and problems than if it was completely cut off.
The rest of the cord is attached to the placenta which the cow pushes out after the calf.
After a week or so, the cord falls off the calf- all shriveled, and everything is good.

The umbilical cord is short, and it breaks as the calf is born. The placenta and the rest of the umbilical cord come out within the next four hours usually.

the mother cow did it and in natural they swallow it to prevent
the smell from reaching others predator

it doesnot need to be cut the animal s take care of it
