When you put your body weight on your hands, it cuts the flow of blood and that could be the cause of the numb hands in the morning. I would have your family physician check it just in case as there are medical reasons that could cause this too.

Numb hands in the morning could be from how you're positioned while sleeping. Also, carpal tunnel syndrome can cause numbness and some people find wearing wrist supports while sleeping helps

I've had that, too. Sounds like carpel tunnel syndrome. The only thing you can do is to buy 2 wrist splints. That will keep the carpel tunnel straight and not pinch the tendon and your hands won't go numb.

It can show problems with your neck region. Some people can sleep with their hands above their head and suffer no problem. Circulation, nerves, You can talk to your doctor or Naturapath, Physiotherapist about help. It shouldnt cause long term problems unless you are getting numb apendages at awake times.

I have this problem too but have been much better since seeing a chiropractor. I was not diagnosed with carpal tunnel but with tendonitis. I have splints to wear at night that a traditional doctor gave me but they really didn't help much. I have found the most help with the chiropractic adjustments and vitamin B complex.

i;ve had this before, make ur bed really tight, do not sleep on ur belly, i mean really get more sheets or something tuck ur self right in so u can;t move sideways much. try this for one week. i notice this when i wake up and my hips crushing both my hands sometimes they go numb.
another thing u could try is get someone to tide your hands to the bed head xD

In addition to what Julie said, you might want to get a new matress, if your old one is breaking down: If your matress isn't supporting you right, it will throw your bones out of line. Which could lead to pinched nerves.
