I wish there was a box that says, "this is none of your da*n business", but there's not. And who really wants to be "other"? I would be "caucasion", but I'm thinking, "what does that mean?" Including both sides I am french, german, irish, scottish, english, native american, and an "unknown" which we think could be greek. I am a mutt with my dark hair, freckled tan skin and hazel eyes. My father is light with blue eyes and my mom has black hair and such tan skin that people often speak to her in spanish because they think she is latina. My point: in a way, I understand where you are coming from. And if I were you, I would not fill that box in unless they absolutely require it. I know i don't. A box does not define you.

Personally I hate having forms where you have do declare your race!!! How can we have a real fair country with this every where.
I'd put mexican. There probably is a category called mixed.
Whatever, are they gonna sue you over it?

either hispanic or african american.
i would use whichever culture feels most comfortable to you.
for example ifyou speak spanish and like to salsa i would put hispanic. if you can speak in black american dialect and like to watch BET, then put african american. or just alternate (i put hispanic on the last form, i'll put african american this time).

Hopefully one day they will come up with a form that addresses all of the cultures we are. I see two options. Other is a good choice but doesn't really cover it. You could also check every one that you identify with.

you're no longer biracial once you're blended with 6 ethnicites dude. "Biracial" refers to somebody of two races. And so a procedures as ColOmbian (with an "O" lol), Puerto Rican and Dominican pass, those are not races, they are nationalities. i'm guessing you're especially Black & community American, racially.

You'd check both the hispanic and african-american (or black if it says that) boxes.

My kids are black, white and japanese. I'll tell them to check whatever box they feel like checking that day. I'm white and japanese and I switch it up once in a while. Really...they need to make more boxes!!
