The curfew should only apply to Friday and Saturday nights. During the week, school nights, the only place you should be is home. To be quite honest - NO should date until they are 18!

In our state(CT) when a 16 year old gets her license she has an automatic curfew of midnight. So I would think 11:00 or 11:30 on the weekends for a 15 year old would be good. During the week is a different story. My stepsons are 18 and we still make them be in the house by 9:00 to make sure they are prepared for school the next day.

well my children at 14/15 were allowed out till 10 on school nights (but its reduced in the winter because it gets dark earlier so about 9) and on weekends its up till 11 but that's as long as they are out with others and that they have done all their chores, if not then 10. But the second my child arrives home late even by 5 mins then its 2 weeks with a curfew of 8 so that's why my kids arrive home earlier than curfew to make sure. But if they have a reason to stay out later at weekends if its a suitable reason like going for a meal and walking back so it might be later than 11 i'm ok with it as long as they call me when they leave the restaurant.

My parents go by the town curfew for kids under 18 which is 11 on weekends, and school breaks and on school nights it's 10.

I don't even think you should have a curfew but if you must, I would say 11:00 on school nights and none on the weekend.

10:30 they should be in bed by 11:30 for school . If it is on a weekend I would say 11:00 maybe depending if they are trustworthy or not .

Well since during the week you have school, in all honesty I'd say 9:00, that way you can get enough sleep so you're fresh for school, on the weekends I'd say 11:00, most times if you're going to a movie you'll have to grab a late one.

I agree with 11 if you are trustworthy nothing good happens after 11 for a teen of any age. You might check state law my town has a curfew for kids under 18 and it is city wide if you get caught out by a cop 1st time cop calls parents or takes you home next time you go to juvy. Show your mom you are responisble for the one she gives you so maybe she will increase it.

I think during the week you should be home unless there is some specific reason for you to be out, then on a case-by-case basis you and your mom can agree to a time.

For the weekend, assuming you're a good student, trustworthy, responsible, will call when you're plans deviate from what your mother thinks you're doing...then I'd say 11:30.

I have a 16 year old son, and an 18 year old son (who's in his freshman year at college) and I require both of them to tell me where they're going and with whom, to call me when they get to their destination, to call if they leave that location, and to let me know when they're home (For the one in college, this obviously only applies when he's home/on break.)

They're both excellent students, have plenty of friends, and don't balk about this...it's just the way it is. Because of it, I'm fairly lenient with curfews. I take it on a case-by-case basis...
