Reading some stuff written by american or english people, it seems that if you consider italian people in a positive way, it is just because you think they are good lovers or more passionate then rational. Am I wrong about this? I think this is an insulte to us..... I mean, in Italy like in other places there's people of all kind and personalities!

What do you think?

It also depend on the zone - I'm from the north-east, the most rich and modern part of Italy.

Anyway a lot of people think that american people are all superficial and english men are similar to women... well i hate this kind of things (stereotypes, as you said)

Well, I may be a great lover or romantic, but I think that an english, american or russian man can be like that as well. I don't like to be considered just a sex-machine.....

I'm Italian as well... first generation American if you want to get technical.
I've found it has something to do with Italian food. Statistically speaking, America is the fattest country; and they love their Italian food. It doesn't even have to be real Italian food anymore, just a chain restaurant that offers pasta with tomato sauce.

And for those who are more cultured, Italy has been home to some of the most talented artists the world has ever seen.

I don't think that its an insult, to be labeled as good or passionate lovers. I would rather think of it as a compliment. From what i have learned, Italians are generally labeled as good and passionate lovers becoz of the play Romeo and Juliet, Casanova who was actually a Spaniard or a French. Latin as the old language of Italy is a romantic language. Where the present Spanish, French and Italian language branched off. Anyway there are so many attributes to the Italians that are positive. I think you should not feel insulted by that. Good thing for you, you are referred to as "Good or Passionate Lovers" but for us Filipinos to be called as "Brown Monkeys" is very depressing, insulting and degrading. Which would you prefer of the two. To be Italian and called as good or passionate lover or a Filipino and called as a brown monkey.

The Italian men are the ones that come across as the sex gods to the women. Romancing, dining, flirting with the ladies to get what they want. Don't just blame the ladies here!
