Americans don't want people speaking Spanish.
They don't like immigrants.
I'm glad you are all openminded but I've seen some pretty racist people on this site.

SexiTrash - there is plenty of good Spanish literature out there like Carlos Fuentes, Julio Cortazar, Borges, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

I'd love to know which orifice you pulled this question from. A small, racist percentage of the American population does not make all Americans "afraid of Latinos".

Not afraid, just aware of the unfair oppurtunities that illegal immigrant's have. I am not racist at all, I come from a mixed heritage but Latino's are not taking over, tell me what great works of literature is written in Spanish? ( my man who is of latino heritage brought this to my attention) So many elements of so called Latino culture is simply a redo of black culture. Reggeaton( dancehall and hip hop combined) I live in LA and I wonder would there be so many lationo's if they were all legal? But America is addicted to cheap labor...no offence. Oh and markos, blacks are the parent race( scientifically proven) so do you really believe that there will be no more blacks in a 100 years? LMAO!!! Remember whites are the real minority. Oh And I am not trying to offend ANYONE, I come from a mixed heritage.
I just state the facts...In LA it was found that over 500 illegal immigrants voted in the last mayor elections. Now is this fair to actual citizens? If they were willing to come here and play by the laws, I wouldn't have a problem, but when I walk down the street and see women with 5 or 6 kids, I believe that it unfair that I have to pay in taxes for children that women and men can't take care of themselves( this goes for everyone seeking welfare assistance) If you can't afford to pay for your own way of living, don't reproduce!!

GIRL I am FAR FROM AFRAID! LoL. I love Latinos! They rock! And I mean I would rather have them than a bunch of terrorists or something. As a matter of fact, thats why I'm taking Spanish classes so I won't be lost when I travel to sudamerica! =P

True, why Americans are so worried and afraid of a Latino majority? America, is referred to as the melting pot, in 100 years or so therefore, there will be no Latinos, no Blacks, and no White Americans as we know them today, they'll be a sort of rainbow race, a mixture of everything and everyone, and they will still call themselves Americans, and they will still love and defend their country, the USA.

I think it's because of the way most Mexicans have entered the country just to take advantage of the system and not following the laws, and that kinda of aggrevation gets blanketed over anyone of a latin origin.
It may be right or wrong but that's what's happening.

because white Americans are afraid that a Latino majority will displace them as majority. but i really believe they wouldn't idly sit by and let that happen they would rather declare Hispanics as whites just to keep their majority status in this country.

why are americans so afraid period..spiders?..bugs?..heights?..rats?..human color?..because thats how we were made...
God dont want us to be afraid..so dont be afraid of anyone or anything...God is by our side..
