I keep our home at 72 degrees all day long. Is it warm enough to keep my 3 month old in a short sleeve onesie all day to lounge in just around the house? At night I turn the heat down to 68 and I put her in a zip up gerber sleep and play with footies.

They say "dress your baby like you dress yourself". My daughter is a hot blooded Italian (like her daddy) so I always have to keep in mind that she needs to be slightly more under-dressed than me. If I am comfortable, she is usually warm.

I keep her in layers when it is cold, but my in-laws house is an oven. She wears short sleeves and pants in the dead of winter when we are up there. And when my mother-in-law has the oven on, she wears the one piece short things.

I keep my house at 72 also and unless i am holding my 4 month old her legs and feet feel cold. I suggest a long sleeve onsie and some cotton pants. They say a baby should always be dressed in one more layer than you are. The onsie being the first layer. SO unless you are just sitting around in your panties i would say you at least need some sock and pants on that baby. Or a onsie and a sleep and play ( full body outfit).

Actually "they" say to keep your house between 68-72 when your child is sleeping, I live in Florida and always have my 6 month son in a onesie, and he seems comfortable, however he is a warm blooded baby, he is always nice and toastie. It depends on the baby and if you put her in pjs with footies at night I'm sure she is fine, that is what I put my son in as well.

In my opinion no. We also keep our house at 72 during the day and my eight month old wears a "onesie" and also an outfit or long sleeved pj's as well as socks and slippers. The younger a baby is the harder it is for them to regulate their own temperature. Just because YOU are warm enough doesn't mean they are.

Dress her like you dress yourself. If you are comfortable in wearing shorts and a tshirt in the house than it's fine. Then again, I dont know what type of weather you are having. I think I would be cold wearing just a "onsie" if it were 72 degrees.

As long as your baby feels warm then it's ok. My 20mon old runs around all day in just a diaper most days.He hates clothes on and as soon as I put them on him I'd better be going out or he's taking them off.If he would only stop taking the diaper off at night it would make for an easier bed time because he's used to sleeping in his diaper as well but he has learned to take them off.So I feel it's ok to let them go as long as they are comfortable and don't feel like they have a chill when you touch them.

it depends on where you live too. we keep our heat at the same temperature as my grandmother but her house is always much hotter than ours, it seems. we have completely different layouts and types of heat...humidity, drafts, etc.

i would definitely keep the baby in an actual outfit suitable for the season. a onesie is supposed to be kept underneath the outfit for added warmth.

a baby will let you know if they aren't comfortable. you know your house but since you are asking, chances are it is too cold! :)

take care. SD

As long as he/she feels warm I would think it's ok, see our heat is at 72 and it's too cold for him, he has to have a sweater on. I think it's a judgement call.

depends on the kid. i keep our baby in a onsie alot too and if he starts feeling cold to me i put sweats on him. if he starts sweating, i take off a layer. my baby is totally warmer than me most of the time. i can have on pants and a long sleeve and be cold and the baby has on a diaper and he's warm. go by how he feels and how you feel about it. i'm totally about a mom trusting her own instints about her kid.

I kept my oldest (now 3) in a onsie his entire 1st year and he was born Jan 26. I live in GA though, but still. My baby is now 2 months and I keep him in a sleep and play. My oldest was more hot natured though.
