When I was tuning my guitar for the first time, the 1st string broke on me. I was using a digital tuner (brand new) and was trying to make the LED light for the first string light up, but instead, the first string fawking broke on me. WTF?!? Help!

The first string is the high E. Whenever tuning new strings for the first time you need to do it slowly and push them down after every twist on the place where you strum them at (above the humbucker/pickup). This will stretch them out and break them in.

You should also tune your low string FIRST!! Then, move to the next higher string. Low E, A, D, G, B, High E in that order. The reason is that the heavier low E string will actually flex the high E string when you tune. The same applies to 7-string/12-string guitars.

So, do the high string last.
