I have an old sony PMC 202 music centre and it's still going strong.
The radio is fine..... however whenever I put a cd into the top loading cd player...all that happens is the player shows 'no disc' on the led display. Now I'm a girlie...and I know very little about electronics....sooo.... i cleaned the discs / purchased cleaning fluid for the lens and did that too....still wont play!!!!! Can anyone help...me please????

It is quite possible, given that it's an old system, that the laser itself has failed.

Hello Monza

Think you are trying to play a CD-R disc with MP3 tracks your old music centre will not play them at all. Even if tracks are not MP3 if CD is CD-R or CD-RW your snookered.

Most new radio will play hese disc however you will see it on the instructions.

Its just too old to play that kind of disc. Times have changed.

If you can reach the lens, try a manual cleaning. I have seen that work where the commercial cleaners don't.
