When a person is confused about the details of a specific situation and gives you an option e.g 2 or 3 (He says, "I'm not sure 2 or 3.") which one is the most likely. This is just something I've been thinking about.

would depend on when they second guesses themselves (or the more likely alternative, neither is more likely. the truly don't remember). If they say 2 off the top of their head, and then doubt themselves and say 3, then 2 would be. But, if they were unsure, guessed 2, and then remembered 3, then 3 would be.
