Well, it depends what you mean by transgender. Are you referring to the type of people who choose to dress up (crossdressing man) and/or live as women (transgenderist), or those who were born with the need to live fully as women and get surgery (transsexual)?

Obviously, if a person was born with the need to live as a member of the other sex (transsexual), there is nothing wrong with it. This is a thing that is diagnosed and treated by doctors, and it isn't a choice, it is who you are.

As for the people who are gender variant or choose to dress and/or live as a woman, that is less clear to me. So many use "transgender" as a cover for homosexual practices. I'm not here to condemn such practices. I'm just saying that honesty is the best policy. If you want to have gay sex, don't feel that there is a need to dress up as a woman to do it, just do it. Don't pretend to be what you are not and then expect others to honor it. There is no need for someone to crossdress in order to sanitize the image of gay sex. Just call it what it is and be comfortable with it. Don't worry what others think.

Drag and recreational crossdressing could be argued by some as being offensive to women. But as long as it doesn't hurt others, is there anything really wrong with it? Does anyone have a right not to be offended?

What would be wrong would be to use transgender as a cover for self hate. Some men think there is something wrong with being a man and think that destroying their masculinity will take away the shame. It will not. If you hate who you are before any gender transition, you will hate yourself at least as much aftwards.

it's not a bad thing!
being transgendered means that you don't fit entirely in society's constraints of perfect men and women.
by that, any tomboy or not burly man could be considered transgender, depending on the society in which you live.

people are supposed to be different.
discrimination exists, and it sucks
but you try to educate more people, and hopefully life gets better.

absolutely not. people are people regardless of what, or who they love or what they feel like inside. it is not a bad thing if that is whats right for that person.society just has to get over itself and learn that we are all individuals and we are all deserving of love and kindness. i have been a crossdresser all my life is that a bad thing?? i think not

It is not bad at all and is completely normal. Don't let anyone ever put you down about your own sexuality preferences it is fine and your own decision to make!
