I am guilty of wearing baby Gap on my daughter all the time. But not the newborn stuff. I bought a bunch of 6-12 months and 12-18 so far. she is 9 months old and the 6-12 still fits very well. I don't buy them new or full price though. Either clearence sales, eBay, or other 2nd hand or discount stores.
Gap clothes are made better, the hold thier size and shape when washed, the fit better than cheaper brands, and they last longer.

Not if baby Gap is having a sale. And the baby Gap clothes are MUCH better quality. I was fortunate to have a lot of kids the same sex (female) and most of the baby Gap clothes and Gymboree clothes made it through three or four kids at least, whereas the Target clothes looked good for one kids but then I gave them away as they faded, shrunk, and got to be poorly fitting and the trimmins would curlup, fall off, etc. Nothing wrong with the Target things if you're not looking ahead, but they are really not as economical in the long run, if you take good care of your things like I do. And like I said, check the sales.

The only time I buy name brand for my 2 year old and the only time I will with the one I am pregnant with is when they have really good sales. Other than that, I go to Walmart, Kmart, etc.

I buy my boys' clothes at Kohls and JcPenny but only when they are on sale. They grow out of their clothes so fast that I am not going to a fortune on clothes that they aren't gonna be able to wear for very long.

Some people treat their kids as fashion accessories and they must be dressed to the nines all the time and have the time and money to spend shopping for their kids. I find it exhausting. Baby Gap is great for people to buy for babies as gifts etc but come on, it certainly is not practical.

Because they have really cute clothes. If you can afford it why not? You can always give the outfit away to a friends baby if you aren't using it anymore.

Sometimes you can find great clearance sales. Sometimes it's just as inexpensive as Target. Some people aren't frugal.
