The correct terms are TRANSITIVE VERBS and INTRANSITIVE VERBS. A transitive verb doesn't take a preposition. "I hit the ball." An intransitive verb takes a preposition. "I listened to the music." Some verbs can be either trans or intrans depending on the usage. If you are not a native English speaker, it's important to realize that a verb can be transitive in one language while its closest translation is intransitive. When learning verbs you must leart which prepositions are appropriate for them.

You mean like "to-ing and fro-ing"? That's the only example I can think of, and its a silly one. What preposition did you mean to make into a verb?
