Pictures pictures pictures.
Take and bring some photos to your local lowes/home depot, and someone will be able to help.

Colors never match as well in your head as they do when you arrive, because there are so many to choose from. Take off a cabinet door if you like bring that in as a sample.

You'll find better prices at those chain stores than online anyway.

Home Depot has a CD Rom program available you can buy where you can import a photograph of your room, and change the colors in the program. You but it there, and put it on your pc at home.

The photo will help answer questions about the window too. I don't know what kind of window it is, how it's built in, how its installed, etc. Photograph it from the inside and outside and take it in for help. A picture is worth a 1,000 words.

I've worked for Home Depot, Menards, and Lowes, and you have no idea how helpful we can be when someone actually brings in photo's instead of vague descriptions of their product, it makes it so easy to help you'll end up with the input of every employee in the store and half a dozen customers.

Too bad yahoo doesn't allow uploading of photos for these questions.

To answer your first question, you'll probably want to base your kitchen remodel around the pine cabinets. If you are going with a country theme then you might want wood floors (or pergo) and a nice warm color on the walls like a brick red or toupe of you don't want too much color. It's hard to say without seeing the cabinets but I am assuming they have a country look.

If you are planning on putting up a wallpaper border, then pick that out before you paint the walls and use a color on the walls that is present in the border. This will help pull it all together.

the first two answers are great for wood frame windows. If the window is alum or steel then forget about saving it. Take out the glass and then cut out the frame. Try not to mess up the rough framing too much. You can then reframe the rough opening in the wood or drywall, your choice. There are a lot of good sites to get ideas from, try some of the cabinet manufacture sites, such as kraftmade, merillat, etc. Most of them have galleries you can page through to get ideas.

To remove anything, you follow the steps that it was installed in, only backwards. Remove the trim from both sides, use a sawsall to cut finish nails holding it to the studs. If you're not saving the window and don't have access to a sawsall (reciprocating saw), use a nail set or 16 penny nail to drive the finish nails the rest of the way through the frame until it is loose. There's not much to it, really.

Note: There will always be one nail that you didn't see that will keep the window from coming out. This one nail will either cause you to ruin the window or take you an extra hour to figure out why it won't come out.

1. The DIY network is great.
2. Start by prying off the frame, then remove each piece as you come to it, being careful when you get the window itself loose. Handle the glass part with gloves, in case it breaks. After the window is removed, you'll need to fill in the hole with whatever your existing wall is, or you could frame in a small cabinet there.

take the sashes out of the frame. take the trim off the frame.
take a sawz-all and cut any nails that attach the frame to the studs.
on the "outside" side of the window drive a pry-bar between the brick-mold (trim) and the wall and start prying at it. this should start to pull the frame and brick mold out of the hole. Easy project, just start taking things apart. It'll be fun!
