Pretty sure it was "Mario Brothers" (NOT Super Mario Brothers). It was an odd little game, and it might have even been for the Atari 2600.

Think it was the mario where you had to kill the enimies by hitting the boxes under their feet. Or the mario vs donkey kong one.

i think it was donkey kong where you have to use mario's jumping skills to jump over some barrels thrown by a weird pixelated monkey and save the woman (probably princess peach)

wow, i've always wanted to know that....um well mario 1st appeared in a yoshi or donky kong game (either one). then, the graphics were REAL bad. you couldn't really know where the eyes, nose, and mouth exactly looked like!
