Many bacteria can be differentiated by how they react to the Red/Purple Gram stain. This is based upon the chemical composition of their cell walls. Some bacteria, particularly the "acid fast" ones cannot be well stained by the Gram stain, so others need to be used.

Hi Tee M!!

The application of the stain technique, is to actually make the bacteria more noticeable.

Some of this organisms are transparent and the only way one can observe the moving mechanism in detail is staining the solution.

GOOD LUCK, GOD BLESS YOU, HAPPY LIFE

Different bacteria react to different stains, what show up with one stain will not aways show up with others.

Alot of times they can do a wash thru many different stains, and that will narrow down what type of bacteria it is.
