my sis is 6 mo preg. and is having mild contractions. when she sits or lays down, her stomache is soft, but when she stands up, it gets really hard. does anyone know what this means?

Braxton-Hicks contractions. Basically it's practice contractions, her body getting ready for labor. But don't worry she still has awhile before she actually goes into labor.

That is called braxton hicks contractions or false labor contractions. Nothing to worry about, basically its the body practicing for when the real labor comes!

it doesn't mean anything but if you all think its something serious call and ask you doctor but i don't think it mean anything because i am 8 months and my stomach is soft when i sit down but when i stand up it gets hard so don't worry about it its gonna be OK

I believe she should have her OB check it out. It could be normal BH contractions But if she gets uncomfortable she really needs to go to Labor & Delivery.

They are what you call braxtron hicks (practice contractions) but if she gets uncomfortable she needs to call her dr.

these are common and they go on throughout the pregnancy.
The more times she gets pregnant the more she will feel them and they can become rather painful...I used mine to practice lamaze.
If you are concerned contact your doctor.

I think it's just gas. When my stomach's hard, that's usually what it means..........LOL.
