That they used real bullets in the guns the actors shot at each other? I have a friend who thinks so. He is a movie buff, an old movie buff. He is a fanatic of old gangster/James Cagney type movies. He read somewhere that Cagney, Bogart and the rest were having real bullets shot at them in those movies because blanks had not been invented yet. I say this is just nonsense. What do you say? Real bullets or not?

They did use blanks, all they did remove the bullets and cap the shell with wax. you should watch the old movies, and see for yourself. You'll never see any actor with hole in the shirts nor blood on their shirts. Blank bullets were used back before movies,
wild west shows used them all the time.

That's retarded. Who in their right minds would want to work on a movie where real bullets are being shot at you? No amount of choreography on earth could keep anyone save in an environment like that.

They did not use real bullets in those movies. There have been blank cartridges since the 1800's. Real bulltes would have been unfeasable as there would have been too much risk of injury and death and they wouldn't risk loisng somone that was making them millions of dollars.

Don't you belive it. Blanks were made even before silent movies. They were using them at sporting events in starter guns.
