this isn't a question. i'm just trying to clear something up for people who have more questions about it. first of all the butterfly effect is a theory based on a quote that essentially says something as small and insignificant as a butterfly flapping it's wings can cause a typhoon hundreds of miles away.

okay, now it's not saying that JUST the one butterfly caused a typhoon, it's saying that had that one butterfly NOT flapped it's wings, the typhoon may have nver occured.

and for you people who have seen the movie and think that the butterfly effect has something to do with going back in time, i have to tell u you're sadly mistaken. it's simply trying to deliver the message that every single decision you make, every single thing you say and do in your life, can dramatically affect your future and everyone elses. something as minor as tripping and falling at work and the way people react could change the way things happen for you and the people that were around to see it.

Star Trek TNG explored this idea as well in an episode where Picard did not get stabbed in the heart

But...just curious how does the butterfly flapping it's wings affect a typhoon?!? If you don't mean it causes it what do you mean?!?!
