My PC has a million virueses and dialers. I have a firewall and norton anti viurs but the viruseskeep coming. What do I do???????? I cant reformat cuz i dont have my copy of windows. What do I do???????????? am I screwed????????????

I am not yet any kind of paid computer professional but have a few years general computer experience and will be going to school to get a Computer Repair A+ certification soon. In a situation like the one mentioned, I would spend the cash to take your computer into a shop to re-format (if you don't have a c.d. or know how to install it). Ask about wiping the drive completely prior. To my knowledge, just reinstalling a windows c.d. does Not remove ALL the previous files and potentially the viruses you speek of.

Start by upgrading your Norton - make sure it is fully current.
When it is, run it for a full check with your modem unplugged.
If you do not have an up-to-date Norton version, better get one!
Also delete windows temp files and all internet files and cookies from your browser....

ok , if you can find a friend that will let you plug in your hd as slave then go for it , once you are in that pc and the hd is config on your friends pc , just run the antivirus to your had . The other way is that you put your pc in share mode , and from another pc just open your C drive and run an antivirus

Use your system restore and go back as far as you can,(black dates only) With any luck it will restore your pc back to a time before you got the viruses...depending on how strong the viruses are.

Get an AV on a Boot disk and run it !!!
Maybe a CD anti-virus would be better

www.activevirusshield.com and download the free antivirus install it and update and then perform a full scan.. u will be out of this within 45 mins
