Yes, rubbing alcohol should work. If you can't open it at all, pour cold water on it. Make sure you don't use hot or warm water.

Most likely your seals (weather stripping) are freezing to the door. To prevent, clean the door where the seals touch with a kichen spray cleaner on a rag. Use the same on the seals. Then use Nu-Vinyl or similar Silicone based treatment on the seal.
Armor-All will work, but tends to be greasy and will allow dirt to collect on it and will likely smear or get on your clothes.
You can do the same to your car door gaskets to prevent them from freezing shut.

If the door has a rubber/vinyl gasket around it, I would coat the gasket with armor-all or vaseline, that will stop the water from staying on the gasket and freezing, works good on car doors too.

You can use some KY jelly. It will not freeze and it won't damage any of your seals like vaseline will.
