At 44 I'm still living my childhood. Actually I remember family picnics, Sunday dinners, neighborhood playing without fear of child pervs., running wild through the woods and neighborhood, super huge tag and hide and seek games, and most of all being with my brothers and my parents. Family time, it was different, I know that is cliche but to every generation it is true. I also remember the news clips of the Vietnam war and the effects of it on so many families even though I was young.

How carefree I got to be before I had to take on the responsibility of being an adult with bills, and kids, and a job. Just being able to wake up and the only thing required of me was school and a couple of chores. Childhood in general is a memory (as long as it was a good one). But as for an activity i would say playing tag with all my friends at the playground.

My best friend Cynthia and all the fun we had riding bikes to town to see a movie and shop at Woolworth's, setting up carnivals in the backyard, swimming in the creek when it overflowed in the spring, building a raft which we planned to sail down the creek to its source, having sleep-overs in tents in our back yards with all our other friends, helping ourselves to fruit from all the neighborhood trees, spending hours on our stomachs, catching crayfish by the bucketful in the storm ditches then putting them all back , staying out until midnight with all the other kids playing kick-the-can and Trick-or-treating until we dropped from exhaustion.

Getting stung repeatedly on the playground by a hornet. I was in the first grade. Still terrified of anything that stings.
