on what grounds for search and giving a ride to a 4 time losser on drug charges shouldnt be the reason either.searched by a male officer

So are you a female? So why is a male officer not allowed to search you? Next, if you allow someone in your car with drugs, you are just as guilty, especially if you know about them. If you don't have any on your person but in the car, not good but worse if they were in commonplace. Police can pull you over for any reason and request a search, be careful who you hang out with, find new friends.

You can say NO!
Most people don't realize they can AND should say NO! When a cop asks if they can search your vehicle.
The ONLY time they can legally search, with out a warrant, is when drug paraphenalia, open containers, or firearms can be seen in plain view (or the smell of weed; alchohol on breathe). If none of that happened. Then tell them "NO, you can not search my car!" Chances are they will get mad and right you tickets for every other dumb thing they can think of and "legally get away with". Because they are pissed at you. (But fines are better than going to jail!)
AND they will try and coerce you into letting them search (it's happened to me) But stand your ground.
BTW- if you can prove in court that they searched unreasonably, the whole charges could get thrown out!
NOW if they think you are trafficking a HUGE amount of drugs, they can detain you while they go get a search warrant...which takes forever...and then legally they will be able to search your car.
****ALSO (i'm not sure the laws in every state, and I think they are trying to make laws to change this, THEY SHOULD) If a drug dog just so happens to *sniff* by your car and goes crazy like their are drugs, then (in my state atleast) they have "reasonable suspicion of the drug parafonalia" and CAN legally search your car.

If the drugs are in plane view or if there is a odor coming from the car, or a K9 alerts on the car or if you give the officer permission to search your vehicle, or if your car could be towed for another violation...Then the cop can search the vehicle!

As far as the drugs go, if there in youre car, youre in possesion, doesn't matter if they belong to you or not, but the officer should have called a female officer to the scene to pat you down, i don't think it will do much good to fight the search though, seeing as how they found contraband in you re vehicle

I can't think of a soul that would not say, "hey, their not mine, don't know how they got here." So, do you think the cops are really going to believe you? If their in your car, their yours....weather they are or not. Frankly, who in their right mind would be driving around with someone else's drugs.
Whoops, that the answer right there, no one is in their right mind if their doing drugs.

Hi Vivian,
If you are in Singapore, you are presumed to be the owner of the drugs if it is in your vehicle unless the contrary is proved.

They wouldn't be found in my vehicle because I don't allow people who carry drugs to get in my vehicle and you shouldn't either.
