I am currently running my P.C. on windows XP. I got a load of Viruses/Spyware in my computer and used Antispyware to take care of the problem. The trouble i am having is that when i try to get my Yahoo home page i keep getting a warning hat directs me to a page that is forcing me to buy a program called Malware/Antivermin which I dont want/ need. Any one that can tell me how to get rid of the annoying page and back home will have a friend for life thanks to all who took the time to read and answer this Q.

Get hold of and use
spybot
http://www.safer-networking.org/.........
this will show up with some nasty malware- your browser has been hijacked. You can then use spybot to stop this happening.
It is free to anybody and highly effective....
After that , make sure you have all your anti-virus and windows updates done as well. NO antispyware / security is any good unless you use it regularly and update it regularly too.
I wont wish you good luck in getting rid of your problem as I know you can do it, but have a great day getting rid of rubbish from your system.

Ok as a friend for life :-) your going to have to get yourself a SPYWARE/MALWARE remover and No not the on featured on the Malware site. Get Webroot( www.webroot.com ) cos this is the best one. You can get a free copy if you can Torrent search it but that complicated business, thats just if you want it for free. This program that has found its way to your computer has Hijacked your browser and no matter how much you try to change the home page it will keep going to that till you remove the malware/spyware in your computer. Otherwise if you think you give it a shot you can right click the internet explorer icon and there under properties you will find home page where you can change to default or www.yahoo.com.

I am going to say what others have already mentioned. You are a victim of browser hijacking. Your computer is infected with spyware. Spybot Search & Destroy is a good free anti spyware program; you can download it at: http://www.filehippo.com/download_spybot_search_destroy/

Once you have downloaded the program, be sure to update it and then run a scan. If you need step by step instructions on how to use it, read this article:

"How to effectively remove Malware using Spybot Search & Destroy" -- malwarehelp.org (http://www.malwarehelp.org/how-to-effectively-remove-malware-spybot1.html)

Once you have removed the spyware, you can reset your homepage.

I use spybot and Crap cleaner to get rid of spyware like you describe.

To change your home page, open control panel, double clcik internet options and you will see what your home page is currently set at. Just change it to whatever you want then press apply.

Good luck!

You have inherited a hijacker! You probably received it from some freeware! You will need to uninstall the software for starts and then find some software for the particular hijacker. You might even have to manually remove a shitload of registry entries!

you still have spyware probs.... or more accurately a hijacker program that is trying to get you to purchase another program with even more spyware. try HIJACKTHIS and see if that helps.
