Just interested in seeing how that would go over.

If it were for the same reasons it would be completely fine. The actual economic data - that you won't read about when the "gap" is described indicates that there is virtually no "gap" at all for men and women doing the same type of work with the same levels of experience. But women tend to self-select careers that make less (nursing, teaching public school) than men do (more doctors, college professors). The dynamic is levelling out some which is why even the 75% figure is out of date.

The last little bit that remains (about 3%) is generally attributable to the tendency of a percentage of the female workforce to opt out for a time or choose more flexible hours in order to care for children. This is merely a reflection of societal reality.

So feel free to work head-to-head with men. You'll make just as much.

Your question is irrelevant because there is a valid and logical reason that women make about 75% of what men do, and a couple of the answerers above me were on the right track as to why. One woman said she has always taken non-traditional jobs, and another guy mentioned women often taking maternity leave. These reasons, in addition to the fact that almost all women request more time off and usually need more flexible schedules than men account for the disparity in their respective pay. I've been in the workforce for over 20 years and almost without exception every woman I have ever worked with has taken more time off for various reasons than their male counterparts. This is the way most women like it, and that is why they rarely complain about the wage discrepency; they realize it is a trade-off: more flexibility is worth taking a slightly lesser pay. It is only the knee-jerk feminists who seem to object to this. If you look at the few cases where women are doing equal work and putting in equal time you will also find they are paid equally. You have to learn that you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Feminist continue to beat that already debunked statistic.

Women earn 75% of what men do, when part time work is factored into the statistic.

Women are basically lazy, and should only receive 50% of what men do. If women were more productive than men, the every corporation would hire only women. But ... guess what ... a corporation that only hires women is doomed to bankruptcy because women are essentially lazy, leeches who do little and receive much from society.

Since there is no law saying women make 75 for every dollar a man makes, you can't just "change" it. The reason for the difference could be other factors, like education for example.

If you're looking at a national survey - women typically make the same initially; but they drop out of the work force to have children.

Additionally; they say that women often short-change themselves when asking for raises; men tend to be more aggressive.

There is little "discrimination" toward women in the workforce; a lot of it is self-selection.

Then men would demand raises, and if not getting them, would quit their jobs and immediately get higher paying jobs. That's what you chicks can't figure out -- you've got to demand it and earn it, get over the sense of entitlement.

Also, wouldn't hurt you gals to major in Engineering or Computer Science instead of worthless majors like Psychology and Marketing. A major reason for the discrepancy in the broad statistics is that men get more valuable degrees or train for more valuable blue collar jobs.

I would like a list of jobs that this happens in..........I have always worked in non-traditional jobs and have never had a difference in what I get paid from the guys....I don't get what this gripe is about.....what I have seen is on occasion women getting paid MORE and advancing when they shouldn't have because they are women and not because they can do the job....that I have seen so many times it makes me dizzy!

What are you talking about? Women already have the highest paying jobs. They get the money that their husbands work for.

the reason of this discrepancy isn't that women human beings aren't any further given an same opportunities as adult males are interior an same positions. lets say that a agency employed 2 25 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds to artwork interior an same position. likely interior of ten years, the guy will proceed consisting of his direction up the ladder at the same time as a lady would ought to verify to decelerate if she needs to have children. at the same time as administration seems at this scenerio they are going to make investments contained in the guy more advantageous than contained in the female by technique of giving the guy extra opportunities for promotions, and so on. that is the position the decrease salaries come into question. it would want to be no longer conceivable for a agency to justify in user-friendly words hiring women human beings because on the end of the day they could oftentimes ought to rehire and retrain workers that is a intense priced and non-effective thanks to employ.
