I've just begun collecting dolls and there is a category "OOAK"--does it have to do with the
A rtist's Offerings??? Can't figure out what the K would be for??

From what I understand, OOAK means "one of a kind" in the sense that the maker doesn't make bunches of the same design, just one.

It also indicates I think that the it's the maker's design, not made from a kit, etc.... even for the "altered" dolls, etc., it should still mean that the doll was altered a lot by the maker and with their own ideas.

one of a kind. All dolls that I've seen that have been OOAK have been modified from their original state by a creative person. For example you might see a OOAK Barbie with pink hair and a tattoo that the seller has drawn on by hand.
