a muslim wpc has refused a handshake from the met chief at her passing out parade on religious grounds, this has been accepted by the force but may face problems carrying out her job if she refuses contact with men. Why did she ever join in the first place?

no, not a rumour - just read the early editions antagon..
surely even being sent to a domestic how is she going to avoid not being in contact with men? And how will her male colleagues feel belonging to the untouchables? Why have they spent money on her knowing her job would be so badly compromised. I'm gobsmacked.

i believe it is just another step along the road for the muslim doctrine of converting the host nation to islam.they chip away ,one small step at a time, until before you know it,half of our laws and 1000 year old customs are changed in line with "allah's"will. WAKE UP EVERYBODY, the greatest threat to our way of life since nazi-ism is upon us,and hardly anyone notices..over the top? watch dispatches-(green lane mosque)
one more thing, all these muslims who are here,(i know a lot were born here, but they consider themselves 1-muslim.2-pakistnani-(eg)no alliegence to britain whatsoever )why live among the kaffir?why soil themselves living with infidels?is it because there is one greater than allah?--the mighty british pound!!! the one TRUE god.amen

I agree with you.
Every so often I write to my brother who lives in the States, and I send him stories like the one you have mentioned ~ and sometimes he thinks I'm making things up just to amuse him or stretch his credulity.
Quite Why she joined the Police in the first place, where she must have known that the public are not segregated and that she's likely to come into contact with a fair few members of the male members of it, is worth questioning her on. Especially considering the cost of her training alone.
1: And, as to whether she can be an 'effective' Officer and protect me should my needs be....!
2: Should she ever need 'Emergency' medical treatment at night, would she 'refuse all male attempts at medical aid'?
3: If I were a Doctor or Paramedic whose being called out to a situation, are my first questions going to be 1) is the patient female? 2) is she a Muslim ~ on the assumption that she would refuse treatment from a male.
4: If the answer was a yes, then am I allowed to not answer the call ~ just in case another Emergency call comes along?
I wonder that if as a male, I were to refuse medical treatment from a female Doctor who was Asian and a Muslim, would I be liable to be accused of 'rascism,' 'sexism' or 'Muslimism' too? Or even 'All' at the same time?
It would seem that some people go out of their way to put obstacles in the way.
Sash.

I have nothing against muslimism or any other religion or culture. But I am fed up with people insisting others compromise themselves because of their beliefs. If I chose to live in a muslim country or one where I had to change my behaviour in line with the practices of that country, ie wear a veil, not touch men, well if I wanted to live there badly enough I would do it. But if not, I would go live somewhere else. It's time to stand up and say, if you don't like it, go somewhere else otherwise put up and shut up. We are spending too much time bending over backwards to accommodate such silliness. I don't understand why some religions have rules they need to impose on others whether they believe that same religion or not, and other religions just allow people to get on doing their own thing.

Definitive answer; interior the united kingdom you dont desire a school grade, simply by fact the police concern their very own written examination. The passing for those is equivilent to getting a GCSE c or above in english and maths. in addition they do written good judgment exams which you need to bypass, which you cant incredibly be prepeared for, the two yourve have been provided that mentality or you havent. pay attention, in spite of what human beings say, it particularly is not a bad interest, yet there are diverse greater helpful forces accessible. I you connect the united kingdom rigidity, be arranged to go through vast quantities of workplace work, no longer probable being allowed to help human beings and being continuously annoyed by using administration applying your for statistcis particularly than doing a job acceptable.

Oh For the love of god!
I don't know about anyone else but i'm getting sick off this.
In a society where we're too scarred to say what we think and do what we want for fear of causing the minority offense I'm suprised she didn't sue him for trying to touch her hand!
Now i'm not racist and I have no problem with people from other cultures bringing their beliefs to our country.
What I DO have a problem with is people who enforce their beliefs on us and think that we should make compromises for them.
If a british woman went to saudi arabia/pakistan etc... she would have to obide by their rules - no matter how opressing it would be or how much freedom she'd had in the UK. She would be made to obide by their law without exception.
Why the hell do these people think it's alright to come over here and CHANGE our beliefs as a country and our culture?
If they want to come over here then fine, we should respect & be tolerant their way of living but not when it means we have to change the way we live to suit them.
Soon white britains will BE the ethnic minority and will have no choice but to live by the rule of the minority in a country we no longer consider to be ours.
This may sound a little extreme but so are some of the things that have been in the news about this topic.

Yeah. It does seem a bit of an obstacle to good policing if having any physical contact with unrelated men is taboo for her. How is she going to arrest a guy?

to prove that she could do the job on her own rules.
This will only create hard work for the force. I find it hard to believe that the Met policing standards have even agreed to this... is this even true or are you starting rumours?

That's bizarre! Her job is to protect society in general not just the female half. I agree that she won't be able to do her job.
