My daughter is 11 months old. It was hard in the beginning, I was tired all the time. I nurse my daughter so my husband couldn't help out much with that. She wanted to eat all the time but with in time,1 1/2 months or so, we got her on a schedule and things were a little easier. I still nap when she naps. Now she is starting to talk she has been walking for about 3 months. Watching her play and seeing her learn new things is wonderful. I hope I am answering your question. There are times when things are difficult but when they do something new or give you a hug or learning how to give a kiss you don't seem to think about how they were so frustrating a short time ago. I hope you enjoy your childs first year of life. Watching them grow and learn is amazing!

I have a 2 1/2 year old boy. I absolutely LOVED being a mommy for the first year (and still do). It has been my dream my whole life to be the best parent I could to my child, because my parents were not parents at all and were awful examples. I vowed to make a difference in my child's life and I never take it for granted. Zach is a great boy, but of course, he IS a toddler. When he was an infant, he was pretty good. Sometimes I felt really frustrated because it was such a life change. I was used to just running into the gas station to pay for my gas; now I have to lug him in with me and it takes 15 minutes to do a 2 minute task. I also had to let go of some of my favorite things such as tanning...getting my nails done-too hard (or impossible) with a child. But once I put it all into perspective and realized that it was all worth letting go of to have this beautiful child, I got over the selfishness and transformed into being a real mom. And I love it. I think the first year was easiest...now he's a toddler and into everything...saying mean phrases sometimes...having poop parties in the bath tub...he keeps me so busy (and 1/2 crazy). Good Luck...it's worth it!!!!!!!

My sister and brother-in-law had a baby and lived under the same roof as my family and I had a full experience with having a baby.
I saw all the milestones that my nephew reached throughout the first year, some sooner than others.
I also saw my sister freaking out like all first-time mothers do over nothing.
I pretty much watched my nephew grow up for the first year and now seven months of his life and I wouldn't change it for anything.

I have three kids that are all 22 months apart, which is great but I feel like I have been doing baby stuff for 5 years. Anyway the first year is all about being peed, pooped and puked on, you are lucky to have a shower or shave your legs. Just take one day at a time and enjoy everthing because they grow soo fast.

I had twins and the first year was a blurr. All I remember was not getting much sleep, feeding, getting spit up on and changing TONS of diapers. But it is very exciting also. All the new, wonderful and exciting things they do. All their first - first laugh, smile, giggle, tummy time, roll, crawl...well you get it. Very precious. Make sure you take tons of pictures.
Someone had suggested to me that we take pictures on the monthly birthday with a sign (with their age - 2 Months) and a bear or something to show how the baby has developed every month.

I actually have 2 children, and they are about 16 months apart. My experience wasn't too bad. It was hard trying to potty train while the one was in diapers! My oldest child slept through the night from the time she came home. My youngest was like clock work, and up every hour on the hour. Now they are 4 and 5, and they are true sisters! They fight, argue, and try to be themselves!
