I was wondering .Yesterday I wasn't feeling too well.. The wife had been sick the night before and stayed in bed.I had to be up going back and forth trying to take care of things. At the end of the day I laid down too and went to sleep. The snow was going to be here during the night.I slept and then woke about 10pm and then ate and went back to bed and the woke this morning with snow on the ground and decided why not sleep all day .Is there something abnormal about this?We have gone to the grocery a few days ago because we knew more snow was on its way ,no real reason to get out today and so I gave in and found I would rather be asleep with the weather bad than stay awake and watch a vast wasteland of snow.Pretty much what we have seen everyday since before December. It was nice at first but its been bitter cold.I started worrying ,is there something wrong with me that would make me want to be asleep than awake watching outside of is this common.Im in my 50's so what would you do?

If that's been happening for more than a month or two, you should see a doctor; it could be a sign of depression. If you just kinda went with it once, I think that's kinda normal. The concept seems like a vacation; take a break from obligations and just relax.

No, I do not feel bad the many times I have felt the same as you are describing.. I too am in my 50's and I have noticed that things that seemed so terribly important years ago, are not as important today. I don't have to be doing something all the time. I don't feel that if I choose to just rest and let nature run it's course that I am being bad. At my age and circumstances maybe it is nature asking me to slow down and rest awhile. A little rest in the afternoon does wonders for me, a long time ago, I would not have stopped to take a nap at any time of the day.
I think you should just relax and not worry, as long as you are resting and not going into some sort of depression because of the bad weather, it is perfectly fine to do what pleases you and just sleep and rest when you want to. Do what your heart and soul ask you to do, we need to comfort the soul as well as the body, and winter is a perfect time to do this, even the little animals know that it is the time of hibernation and rest. God Bless

I think a lot of people love to have a sleep-in day. I've lived a very busy life and every once in a while your body tends to want to play catch up, that may mean not feeling to well, then just a lot of sleeping. Once I went to sleep knowing that I didn't have any thing outstanding to do and I end up sleeping for 15 hours. Hope you feel well soon and enjoy the sleep, sometimes it's scarce.

Take a nap and enjoy some dream time.

There's nothing wrong with doing a little hibernation while the weather is unpleasant and you feel like sleeping.
