because the liberals dont believe in capital punishment.. the person we kill woulod be someones son who has had a hard life or some crap like that the he doesnt think he should be held accountable for his actions becfause his momma didnt love him or some crap like that.. the liberals have ruined America

Well, it is not a simple answer to that. Even in today's world of DNA, there are still a lot of mistakes made in criminal investigations. Unfortunately people are convicted every day of crimes that they did not commit. For instance, we just had a case where two men were convicted of killing a girl that both men knew. The case was not even a strong one, but they were convicted on circumstantial evidence and sent to prison for 30 years to life. Their families appealed to the Supreme Court and the conviction was overturned. They spent 16 years in prison for a crime that neither one committed. Not everyone has a family that is able to help as these familes have. It is very, very stressful and very expensive. That is the reason why this country has the Judicial System that they do. Although I do see a lot of bad everyday, this is one law that should never be changed. A lot of innocent people have spent their lives in Prison and even died for crimes they did not commit. Some people will say, Well kill the ones that we are for sure are guilty. Who should that person be to convict them? THe Jury? I don't agree that Capital cases should be judged by a Jury. I am in no way saying this to disrespect anyone. However, when someone is fighting in court for their lives. A jury should not decide their fate. The majority of people who sit on a Jury have no law background because the Attorney's will make sure they don't make it through to sit on the Jury. Laws are very confusing. Even to Attorneys at times it is. So how can we expect that any person will receive a fair trail when their fate is in the hands of people who have no background in Law? Think about it

BECAUSE WE THINK WE ARE BETTER THAN THEY ARE ANYWAYS! MATTER OF COMPLETE OPINION. IN SOME CASES I THINK ESPECIALLY WHEN CHILDREN ARE CONCERNED, I THINK IF U DROWN A CHILD THEN U SHOULD BE DROWNED, OR IF YOU STAB A CHILD TO DEATH, THEN U SHOULD BE STABBED TO DEATH. MOST CASES NOW DAYS PEOPLE DO THINGS AND KNOW THAT THEY WILL GET OFF EASY, MOST OF THE TIME THEY DO SOME WAY OR ANOTHER. MOST END UP WITH STILL BEING ABLE TO TAKE A BREATH. NOT ALWAYS FAIR TO THE FAMILY WHO LOST SOMEONE AND WHO CAN NOT GET THEM BACK. AND SO TAXES CAN GO UP WHILE WE HELP THEM SURVIVE IN PRISON! IT IS A SHAME!~~YES I KNOW THIS IS MY OPINION, BUT I ALSO KNOW THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL THAT AGREE WITH ME.

Because not everyone who is convicted is guilty.
Because we don't want to be murderers, too.
Because, as you said, living is a RIGHT. "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness"
Killing killers makes us killers, so wouldn't we have to kill ourselves?

Because of not everybody that kills, dies! Our justice system is a shame!
Nevertheless, i totally support the death penalty! especially for all the pedophiles out there!
