what if serial killers start to get used to prison and begin to enjoy being in prison? i mean, sure, they only get three meals a day, and are surrounded by the same sex for the rest of their lives and get a small color tv, but they're crazy! if they are careless enough to take a human life, then why would they care about only having limited freedom? i think they should all be put to death, regardless of how callous prison can be, because you never know, those murderers could get used to being in prison, and actually find a way to enjoy it. i.e. finding a "lover," writing poetry, reading, smoking, watching tv, sleeping, dreaming, fantasizing, listening to the radio, talking on the phone, writing letters, etc. i don't think they deserve even those priveledges. their victims can't.

The angry side of me things that putting them to 'sleep' is obviously the best solution since they only destroy the lives of other people and they have lost the right to live any life that gives them a chance at happiness.

Then, part of me thinks that it doesn't make any sense that we tell them that murder is wrong and then we 'murder' them as punishment. It almost seems barbaric to kill them but prison doesn't always seem like punishment enough. There's always that slim chance that they are somehow innocent or can reform and become a good person. We are suppose to trust the system to only convict the guilty but there can still be a mistake made.

I'd like to see these people dead but something about that doesn't feel quite right. Maybe it's because we aren't killing them in self defense, we're killing them after they are in custody and should no longer be a threat to anyone.

I agree with you completely except a lot of times they aren't put to sleep because they want to either find the rest of their victims and also because I think psychologist study them, to better understand serial killers in the future.

I think maybe child molesters and rapists should be put to sleep, since the chances of them reoffending are huge!
