Which of these 3 songs is best for update of Mayella character in To Kill A Mockingbird? Mayella and Scout will SWAP FAMILIES to get some perspective in a 2007 update of Harper Lee's only book, so which of these 3 is better; "Daughters" by John Mayer, or "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman, or "Because of You" by Kelly Clarkson?

I think "Daughters" would be great--the song and the book both have to do with kids who lose part of their childhoods because of the adults around them. When I hear the Kelly Clarkson song, I don't really think about families as much as couples, I guess. And it's not as thought-provoking as "Daughters" is--every time I hear that song, it makes me think about kids and what it's like to grow up in a tough world.
