We have to renew car tag every year and why do we need to renew driver license too? I think department of motor vehicle should only for people who need to take driver license exams, people who got problems with their driver license such as probation and whatnot, and people from other states who want to change their driver licenses.
Do you agree? I really disagree with renewing driver license every 5 or 10 years because it is unnecessary, money wasting and a hassle. Also, the people who works at DMV are very rude and unprofessional. And, why do they need your social security? Can you trust those people with your social security?

First of all, that are incorrect assumption that the money from renewing driver license would be used to fix the road. How do you know? In my city alone, there a lot of roads that have holes or damaged and has not been fixed for years since I live here.

That money typically goes to maintain the roads. Remember they need constant repairing. They also test your eyesight after every ten years. Plus you change in appearance so much over the years. Imagine having a 16 year old girl's photo on a 36 year old mama's license.
About rudeness, I agree. I think they should only pay them minimum wage because they are so rude or fire them.

The government keeps statistics on such things for spending purposes and funding. Also, in today's society, people move frequently than a few decades ago.
Having a Driver's Licence is also a privilege. You passed a test to qualify. The DMV therefore has to keep track of your identity and your location for legal purposes (if you were unconscious in a collision for example, who would they contact? The police would check your licence to find a current address.) If you lost your wallet, anyone finding it could locate you through the address on your Driver's Licence. It's a good way of identifying yourself when using a credit card or writing a cheque.
The Government uses your Social Security Number for everything. Employees of the Government have to have criminal records checks every few years to keep their jobs.
Check the important things, like seeing that no one is using their camera phone to take a video of you using your "password" at a bank machine. As for DMV staff behaving in a rude and unprofessional manner, I would complain where it counts...............talk to the manager and your State Representative in Government.

The easy solution would be to just not drive! If it's too much of a hassle, don't do it!

It's either that or having crappy roads and spending more in car repair. I'm sure if our roads sucked you'd be here complaining and asking why they didn't fix them.

But I do agree with you about those people being rude... that's just unecessary...
