We have to renew car tag every year and why do we need to renew driver license too? I think department of motor vehicle should only for people who need to take driver license exams, people who got problems with their driver license such as probation and whatnot, and people from other states who want to change their driver licenses.
Do you agree? I really disagree with renewing driver license every 5 or 10 years because it is unnecessary, money wasting and a hassle. Also, the people who works at DMV are very rude and unprofessional. And, why do they need your social security? Can you trust those people with your social security?

Ok, so you think renewing driver license paid for the roads? How about car tag fee per year? How about your tax. Government has a lot income than you think. How about the traffic tickets? How about all other taxes that you can think of? I think it is really unnecessary to renew driver license as long as you follow the traffic law and your driver license should be just fine.
In other countries, you don't need to renew your driver license at all.

These people don't know how to read and comprehend the question. I am talking about social security that they asked you in the Department of Motor Vehicle, NOT the social security office. DUH!

I am talking about renewing driver license, NOT getting a driver license. It is completely two different things. I think these people don't know how to read!

At some age or not, you will not get retest.
I know some old people, as old as 80 years old and never got retest at all. So, that is NOT TRUE.
It's all about the GREEN PAPER (DOLLAR)!

I agree. Why do we really need license? They treat those without license worse than a DUI or any other driving offense. Some real crimes don't even get punished as bad.

First of all it is a Privledge to operate a vehicle in this Country. Without the proper license and drivers license you are not a privledged, operater. You are driving illegally without the two license. The money we pay to have the privledge of driving goes to support our roadways. To fix our roads and to help pay the wages of our State Highway Patrol. It pays wages to our state employee's. Social Security is a completely different issue. That is Government funds and not State funds. Yes, I trust our Social Security Office all the way. They are doing a Great job. They have nothing to do , with the Drivers License or Vehicle License plates. Any one who is a habitual violator in operating a vehicle has to pay all fines, before they can gain back the Driving privledges. That is why driving is called a Privledge. If you violate the state laws in driving, then your privledges will be taken away from you. We do not want to loose our privledge in driving. This is the Law of the Land.

Renewing your driver's liscense helps the state keep up with your new address and the money helps to pay for road repairs, new highways, and other things of that nature.
I believe that the renewal process is desperately needed. Because in 5/10 years time, things can change. Eyesight can worsen for example. last year i found out i needed a contact in my right eye. I didn't know though because my left eye was taking over and doing all the work, so even without my contact in i can see fine, it just messes with my depth perception when i dont have it in.

Driver's licenses should be renewed. At some age you should have to pass a driver's test. I would suggest 60.

it extremely is like the different government business enterprise. They assemble taxes each and every time they are able to and waste it besides they are able to. having the flexibility to resume your driving force's license each and every 10 years is new. It was once you had to resume each and every 4 years no matter how sturdy a driving force you have been. I had to resume mine final 12 months and that i did it for 10 yrs. actually everyone there grow to be very friendly, so i assume it relies upon on the place you reside.

By renewing - the State keeps up with your address, etc.

Thank goodness for the 5 year renewal - we used to renew every two years - and it can be done on-line in my State.

sorry yours are rude - a little kindness goes a long way - make them smile!

remember - Driving is a priviledge - NOT a RIGHT!
