yes the regular ipod headphones are **** I did a lot research and tried several different headphones and I found 2 different perfect ones that i enjoy but one may be a little pricey. depending on what you want. .. If you want the kind of headphones that don't go in your ears http://www.thetravelinsider.info/7dec2001.htm bose headphones are EXTREMELY great.. I LOVE Them best sound ever! even my guitar teacher said he feels like he is in a studio. wonderful best sound if you want something to put in your ears similar to the ipod headhphones but a trillion times than get these kind sony makes them you can get them at radio shack for like 30 or 40$ ( which is what the ipod headhones cost brand new) but they are white and they go in your ear similar to this but they sound great and stay in your ear.. the link I have are the more expensive ones but they look similar http://www.learningcenter.sony.us/assets/pa/headphones/index.html good luck hope i helped

The Bose headphones have excellent sound but unfortunately come with a hefty price tag. I've seen them for around $150.

Check out head-fi.org, don't get bose, they are more expensive then they are worth. For the cheapest, best quality headphones, get the Koss KSC-75's, you can get them on Amazon for $11 and they sound as good as $50 ones.

A good pair of cheap and good headphones are available at Wal-Mart. It's a pair of Phillips headphones that go behind the head.

I've had the same situation before the head phone jack does break with an active lifestyle like mine. Though also plugging and unplugging it may also cause your audio phone to have some difficulty.

first of all ipod has realy bad quality to start. the ear phones are not always the problem. I would suggest getting a good mp3 player by creative. If you don't want to then just get some creative earphones
