Anyone have statistics on how many percentage of pregnant women choose abortion?

2007-01-20 12:29:49 · update #1

I don't agree with this statement, but it seems as if some people do. It's funny that people think the percentage of women who do not want an abortion (and may not even support abortion) should be punished because of those who choose abortion.

With that said... Would the right to choose to pay child support cause more abortions?

Men have a choice to keep their penis in their pants, so no---they shouldn't have a choice to pay child support.

One really doesn't have anything to do with the other. A woman chooses an abortion for several reasons. A few of these reasons could be health, financial, or maybe rape. Paying child support is made because a child is brought into this world by 2 people, therefore both parents should be made responsible for the upbringing of the child. Having an abortion to get out of paying child support is very wrong, very selfish. It takes 2 to tangle and if you conceive you have to be responsible. If a woman chooses an abortion, it isn't because she doesn't want the child support, it's because she doesn't want the responsibility,or her health or other reasons like I stated above.

Absolutey not, I disagree with you. If a child is brought into this world then it should be supported by both parents, not just the mother. Why should the innocent child be penalized and not have the right to receive support just because the father did not want to give it life. Who is he to decide, he doesn't carry the child for 9 months and give birth does he? Also paying child support makes the father responsible to his biological child and could possibly create a bond.
Children need both parents and should rightly be supported by both parents as receiving support from the father never covers all expenses.
I believe the mother has the right to choose to give life or not give life because she is the one that is carrying the pregnancy, giving birth and caring for the baby. She should make the final decision and the father should and always will be responsible for child support, that will never change. It's the least he should do for his own child, don't you think!

That is not a comparable comparison. The male has a choice to put on a condom just as much as the female has the choice to tell him to, or take the pill. No matter, if you have sex you are putting yourself into the danger zone of that outcome. Child support is there to help the mother raise the outcome. It is an easy way out even if the dude wants nothing to do with the child. They will take up your whole life. And the choice to have the child is the mothers! It is her body and her life.

There is already so much controversy involving abortion. A woman shouldn't have to kill her unborn baby to avoid financial problems. It really pisses me of that guys try to get out of responsibilites because they didn't give birth to the child. I see child support and abortions in two completely different categories. Why should a guy get out of child support just because the person that he consented to haveing sex with decided that they didnt want to murder a child. The choice of abortion also relys on the person's morals.

I am pro choice.
But I believe that if abortion is to be outlawed, that child support needs to be paid from the moment of conception. (after all it is a child isn't it) If abortion is to be legislated out of existence, either the father or our governement had better be ready to start paying support to the mother from the moment she is out of work due to her pregancy. I am afraid that we cannot just pick and choose when it is convenient to call a fetus a fetus. if it is convenient to outlaw abortion because a fetus is alive from the moment of conception than it is a fetus deserving of child support at the moment of conception.

He already had a choice- the choice to have sex in the first place. He chose to do it, knowing full well that it could result in pregnancy. If it does, then he has to take responsibility for that child. 75% of street kids are kids that had come from a one-parent income household. To be fair, though, if the father is raising the child, then she should pay child support.

adult males do no longer could desire to undergo being pregnant, exertions and transport. the strategies as a result won't be able to be equivalent between the genders. trouble-free experience could inform you that. The regulation has to undertake a pragmatic mindset to the area. as quickly as a baby is born the two mom and dad are obligated to assist it. If the mum and dad won't be able to then the load falls on society.

I think thats a ridiculous statement

Men also have the choice to not have sex or practive safe sex. If someone gets pregnant and they decide to have it then men should pay child support. I'm sure that if I was a man i might view this differently but if you got someone pregnant, thats yoru responsibility too
