I understand the lawyer would have to do this but for the time being what kind of information and evidence could I get to go about getting a motion to dismiss a "criminal case" especially since there is no proof and only one witness on the defense side.

I would retain a good attorney and let him take care of everything. I can't say because I don't understand or know your case.
Having a witness is pretty important to win a case, evidence or circumstantial evidence is of value. Also do you look credible, what about the other party, does he or she look credible.
This is difficult not knowing anything about your case. I would get a good lawyer and let him file a motion for you. Remember a good lawyer can win almost any case. I wish you the best of luck,stay calm and look credible.
