Wow, I feel your pain! Although I think it's refreshing that he is encouraging you to bring new ideas into the bedroom, some hubby's freak out to even think their wife has fun or new ideas.
If you've been together for years and years, you probably have some idea of the things that excite him. Fantasy or role-play can be really lovely ways to explore new things, as can elements of power exchange (have you ever played 'doctor' as an adult?).
Read some books on women and fantasy by Nancy Friday (I think she's written four) to get some ideas of what your fellow females have fantasized about over the years, it's a rich treasure trove of ideas. Mutual masturbation, mutual enjoyment of erotica (written or aural or visual), all can be used to bring some spice into your bedroom (with locked doors of course - your earlier question). I was going to suggest that after you'd introduced some new and fun ideas, you tell him next time it's *his* turn (but only if you can hold out longer than he can for the next intimate encounter). It's possible if you introduce some new things, it will trigger his imagination.
The only potential downside I see if if he gets jealous or accusatory about your new ideas and where you got them, but I didn't get the impression that your relationship with him was less than fully comfortable for both of you. Good luck and Peace out!
