It used to be free.

Right now, it's kinda free but it's limited.... you can listen to any song you want 3 times after you sign up. After that you have to buy the song. However, some program will let you stream the music.

No Napster now a days is one of those subscription deals. Its like 10 bucks a month + 99 cents per song. You can get one of their to go plans which gives you unlimited access to all of their songs, but the catch is you have to put that onto your ipod/mp3 player. If that dosen't sound appealing and you still want free muisic, then try webjay.com or singgingfish.com
