You are probably referring to an Obstetrician - a physician who specializes in obstetrics which is the branch of medical science concerned with childbirth and caring for and treating women in or in connection with childbirth.

if you mean obstetrician, it is the person that pregnant women go to throughout their pregnancy and during labor to check up on the baby and themselves to make sure everything is going well. most obstetrician are also gynaecologists .
