My mother-in-law was a great lady, and we got along great. The only time we disagreed is when she would let my kids do things that they were not allowed to do at home. My husband graciously told her that she could not do that, and things were fine.
She and my father in law were great people, I guess I was one of the lucky daughter-in-laws. They are deceased now, as well as my parents, and I miss them all every day, but am blessed to have great memories. Don't believe all the horror stories, some women have great in laws. Have a good night .

Because they think another woman is taking their place. It's a jealousy issue. They're "taking their baby away." It's a bunch of bull and if I was a mother-in-law, I'd have all the respect in the world for my daughter-in-law as long as she was a good wife and mother.

the truth is that women care to much about exactly what others do. his mom hates thinking that she's not the only woma in his life and that she cant control him, and u r bugged by her annoying habits and condesending manner, but if u both stepped back and realized u both love the same man (in different ways) it 'll b all good. my in-laws like me, and my parents love my hubbie. We talk and *gasp* have a little xes in my old room at their house (SO FUN).

Guy's mothers tend to look at women as taking their son's away...women's mothers tend to look at men as new additions to the family...

I love my mother in law. My mom passed away 2 years ago to metastatic breast cancer and I feel my mother and law have adopted each other.

I love my MIL but I know alot of times that they don't. My mom's MIL was a real witch and her and my mom never got along. It does seem though that men do tend to get along great with their MIL's.
