It is calling global warming because the overall average surface temperature over the entire world is increasing. This causes the weather patterns to change, bringing more violent changes in the weather. Gone are the days where you had simple snow in winter and gentle sun in summer. Now we get tornados and super gales in the UK instead.
Did you know that an overall increase of only a few degrees will bring the collapse of the entire world weather system and will kill off the majority of animals (including humans).

Because Cornwall has declared indepandance from Planet Earth and now organises its own weather.
Pop over the Tamar Bridge to England and it's much milder.
OR
It could be just because you are surrounded bu sea on three sides and are the most westerly point of England, so you cop for all of the nast stuff that the Atlantic throws at you.

You're confusing local weather and climate with global climate. Some places will be warmer, some colder, with more extremes in the local weather. Minor fluctuations in global temperature can cause significant changes in local weather patterns.
