I'm a democrat, but I hope he doesn't run. He doesn't impress me, there are other better qualified people out there. I hope Al Gore sits this one out, too.

Kerry folded like a cheap suit after that remark. He didn't have the stones to dissect his comments and admit that it was Vietnam humor, not today's! I don't believe that anyone was seriously upset with the comment, given the average schooling todays troops have over draftees of yesteryear.
Kerry exacerbated his own problem by going under ground after that fiasco. It demonstrated his lack of character, something that is hard to regain when you do it to yourself!
